HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn makes merit on the occasion of New Year 2017
On December 30, 2015, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice-President of the Thai Red Cross Society, along with the Management Committee,
Thai Red Cross Staff and general public attended the 2017 New Year Merit Making Ceremony at Padtayapatana Building, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital.
On this occasion, Mr. Phan Wannamethee, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society and Prof. Suttipong Wacharasindhu, M.D., FRCPCH, Director of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, presented gifts and 2017 Thai Red Cross Calendars to Her Royal Highness. Then, the Princess gave New Year wishes for Thai Red Cross staff.
HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn chairs committee meeting of Thai Red Cross Children's Home
On December 29, 2016, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice-President of the Thai Red Cross Society, chaired the annual Steering Committee meeting of the Thai Red Cross Children's Home at Vajiralongkorn Building. The Princess was welcomed by Mr. Phan Wannamethee, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society and Asst. Prof. Nuanchan Prapphal, M.D., Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Children’s Home.
The Thai Red Cross Children Home was established on September 17, 1981 by H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to take care of orphans and provide adoption services. At present there are 50 children living at the Thai Red Cross Children’s Home.
Secretary General of TRCS opens Optical Glasses Mobile Unit Project
On January 10, 2017, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President designated Mr. Phan Wannamethee, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society to be Her representative at the opening ceremony of the Thai Red Cross Optical Glasses Mobile Unit project and to make merit donations to monks and nuns who received eye surgery, at Wat Krachong Kharam in Sukhothai Province.
Secretary General of TRCS distributes winter relief kits in Tak Province
Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, President of the Thai Red Cross Society designated Mr. Phan Wannamethee, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society, to be Her representative
to distribute 1,127 relief kits to monks and people affected by cold weather at Chaturachinda Border Patrol Police School, Mae Ramat District, Tak Province.
Thepparat Red Cross Health Station (Red Cross Health Station No.13 Tak Province) had started relief operations to provide assistance to people suffering from cold weather since October, 2016. Blankets and sweaters had already been donated to 1,803 students in rural areas.
The Thai Red Cross Society distributes relief kits to flood victims in southern Thailand
The Thai Red Cross Relief and Community Health Bureau has handed over 41,017 relief kits with drinking water to flood victims in many provinces including Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Surat Thani, Phatthalung, Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani and Trang. Close monitoring of the situation and further relief are still ongoing.
On January 10 – 18, 2017, a large number of Thai Red Cross’s relief kits were delivered to Phatthalung, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang and Chumphon. TRC youth volunteers serve the public at Royal Palace
Outside the Royal Palace, Thai Red Cross youth volunteers have provided first aid service to mourners who are waiting to enter to pay their respects to the late King Rama IX. More than 200 Red Cross Youth volunteers join this activity every day. The volunteers have been present from October 25, 2016 and will end their work on the 100th day of mourning on January 20, 2017
Thai Red Cross and disability inclusion in work place
The Thai Red Cross Society with support from the Thai Bankers' Association and Social Innovation Foundation offers many job opportunities for people with disabilities. There are now 26 qualified and successful candidates who are working with the Thai Red Cross Society.
The Thai Red Cross Society has also launched a project for preparedness, effective management and assistance for disables in the workplace to disseminate information related to disability inclusion, strengthen positive attitude and build relationship among colleagues.
SG of Malaysian Red Crescent visits TRC Relief and Community Health Bureau
On January 4, 2017, Lt.Gen.(Retd) Amnat Barlee MD, Director of Relief and Community Health Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society, together with his team welcomed Dato’ Sayed A. Raman bin Sayed Mohd., Secretary General of Malaysian Red Crescent, at the Thai Red Cross Disaster Operations Center. The Secretary General also visited the TRC Warehouse, Snake Farm, and National Blood Centre.
Provincial Red Cross Chapters
The President of Satun Red Cross Chapter along with Chapter Committee and members and related agencies visited and donated daily necessities to a patient under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Kuan Don District.
The President and Vice President of Uttaradit Red Cross Chapter along with Chapter Committee and members in collaboration with Pichai Red Cross District Branch visited and donated daily necessities to elderly people at Pichai District.
The President and Vice President of Pichit Red Cross Chapter along with Chapter Committee and members visited and donated daily necessities to a patient at Bang Moon Nak District.
Surat Thani Province
The President of Surat Thani Red Cross Chapter along with Chapter Committee and members in collaboration with Sirindhorn Red Cross Health Station and related agencies visited and donated relief items to flood victims at Baan Na Doem District.
Nakhon Sawan Province
The President of Nakhon Sawan Red Cross Chapter along with Chapter Committee and members and related agencies visited vulnerable people at Paisali District. They also donated daily necessities and financial support as initial assistance.
Yala Red Cross Chapter Committee and members in collaboration with Special Children Education Center and staff of Betong Hospital visited and donated a portable suction unit to a child with disability at Betong District.
