On 8 November 2023, Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, handed over the donation of 30,000 USD (more than 1 million THB) through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) emergency appeal to support relief operations for people affected by hostilities in the Middle East. Ms. Caroline Holt, Director of Disaster, Climate and Crises, represented IFRC at this handover event. This emergency appeal was launched to support relief operations of the neighbouring national societies.
The Middle East conflict started on 7 October 2023, resulting in a large number of casualties, injuries, and displaced persons.
