During 14 – 20 December 2020, on 3rd floor, Paragon Department Store, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement including the Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Thailand together held painting contest activities under the topic of “What is Humanitarian Work?” to underline the humanitarian aspect of Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement’s work. At this event, the Red Cross Movement Art exhibition displayed artworks from painting contest activities. The general public were invited to visit the exhibit without charge and the winners’ paintings were shown on www.facebook.com/icrcth.
On 14 December 2020, Mr. Christoph Sutter, Head of Regional Delegation, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), presided over the opening and award ceremonies to winners of all contests which were categorized according to each organization’s mission. The entries were 95 paintings from 91 persons. During the opening ceremony, there was a talk show with several famous Thai artists who expressed their opinions about humanitarian work through art in their own styles.
