The Relief and Community Health Bureau, the Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS), along with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) support Bangkok health volunteers and Public Health Service Center, Bangkok Health Department, to request TRCS’s relief kits by using PhonPhai Application. Relief kits will be sent to people who are in 14-day quarantine and faced with shortages of daily necessities without assistance from any organization in Bangkok, which is the highest risk area of COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Pichit Siriwan, M.D., Deputy Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, TRCS, said that, “Bangkok health volunteers and Public Health Service Center, Bangkok Health Department, will be given user accounts to sign in to the PhonPhai Application to pin where those in 14-day quarantine are, after that, information will be sent to the Relief and Community Health Bureau, TRCS, and relief kits will be provided to Public Health Service Center.”
In 2020, the TRCS together with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), and related organizations signed on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct the Geographic Information System (GIS) extended Project to develop PhonPhai Application in supporting people who were affected by the COVID-19 situation. So far, village health volunteers nationwide have requested and received relief kits via PhonPhai Application for over 150,000 people in quarantine.
