The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) along 191 national Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, globally share common challenges in leveraging technology within the digital realm to maximize their impact. The expansive nature of the IT industry underscores the significance of collaborative networking to address intricate technological issues.
CONNECT 2024 aims to nurture a global Tech/Digital community for the ICRC, IFRC and its 191 national societies to strengthen the technological capability of all national societies.
The event is held yearly face-to-face and is co-organized by the ICRC and IFRC with the support of the Thai Red Cross aiming at fostering community building, optimizing reciprocal learning, and expediting the humanitarian influence of national societies through technology.
Topics in the agenda this year in Bangkok include cybersecurity, connectivity, beneficiary facing products at scale, volunteer management, AI risks and innovation.
During the event the winner of the AI Pioneers Award will be announced. This award is a call to Red Cross Red Crescent innovators and technologists to share their AI work with the network. The 10 Finalists will be promoted across the network of National Societies and 3 shortlisted finalists will get to attend Connect 2024 and showcase their work.
