On 1 December 2020, at Mongkol-Navin Meeting Room, Sor Kor Building, 10th floor, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH), the Thai Red Cross Society, Prof. Ruenroeng Leelanukrom, M.D., Deputy Director for Services of King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, presided over the “HIV : Walk Together, No Stigma” Talk on World AIDS Day.
Thailand projects to end AIDS within 2030 when people will not be infected, die and discriminated against. In 2020, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, TRCS, together with Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, founded the Network to Ending AIDS in Bangkok (NEAB) project to better medical staff’s knowledge and understanding of HIV and prevent their discrimination against HIV/AIDS patients. Among this year’s activities was the “HIV : Walk Together, No Stigma” Talk in which some interesting topics were discussed, including how to decrease discrimination and partiality in order to end AIDS issues in Thailand, how to decrease discrimination in medical centers, the KCMH’s services for persons who live with HIV, and discrimination and stigma against HIV patients.
