Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, proceeded to the meeting room at Sra Pathum Palace, to chair the 342nd Virtual Thai Red Cross Council Meeting, while other Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS) Council members also participated in the meeting at Terd Prakiat Building, TRCS, on 3 September 2021. During the meeting, several issues were considered, for instance, the performance of the TRCS committee on medical services as well as the TRCS committee on blood, organ and biological products service, the offering ceremony of the Royal kathin robes, the organizing of Red Cross fair 2021, a report on the operation of humanitarian assistance during the new wave of COVID-19 pandemic, COVID-19 vaccine resources and allocation plan.
During the new wave of COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand, many prevention and response activities have been continuously provided by the TRCS. The mobile kitchen has been set up with more than 73,487 sets of cooked meals have been distributed. From March to August 2021, a total of 333,332 necessity kits were distributed following requests received through “PhonPhai” application while more another 29,845 necessity kits were donated to migrant workers in 29 provinces. Apart from this, the Provincial Red Cross Chapters also distributed 9,200,012 cloth face masks together with consumer goods and medicines to people.
