More than 900 volunteers, staff and officers from Thai Red Cross Society, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Nakhon Pathom provincial education office, and private sector joined force in “One Million Trees for Bangkok’s Green Spaces and Clean Air” event, a tree planting activity at Khok Nong Na Organic Farming Learning Center, Thawi Watthana district on 23 January 2023. This project aims to raise awareness on global warming solution while the future tree walls around Bangkok help filter dust PM2.5 and absorb Carbon dioxide.
The opening session of this activity was co-chaired by Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society together with Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Bangkok governor. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) team led by Ms. Kathryn Clarkson, Head of Delegation also joined this event.
