Thai Red Cross Society approved an emergency humanitarian assistance of 20,000 USD to Nepal Red Cross Society for flood and landslide victims in the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
From 27-28 September 2024, heavy rain in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces caused floods and landslides in many areas of Nepal including Kathmandu city. International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reported on 29 September 2024 that the disaster affected more than ten thousand people, killed more than a hundred, and more than sixty people were missing. In addition, houses, schools and public utility systems were damaged. Currently, Nepal Red Cross Society works closely with IFRC in assisting the affected people.
