On 7 November 2023, Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, and the management handed over financial contribution of 723,000 Baht from Thai Red Cross Society and 415,300 Baht from public donations, totaling 1,138,300 Baht, to Moroccan Red Crescent to support humanitarian operations for earthquake victims in Morocco. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Abderrahim Rahhaly, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Thailand, represented the people of Morocco and Moroccan Red Crescent in receiving the assistance from Thai public and Thai Red Cross Society.
An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude hit Marrakesh, Morocco, on 8 September 2023. It caused almost 3,000 casualties and more than 5,600 injured. Buildings and public utility systems were severely damaged. Until now, Moroccan government and Moroccan Red Crescent are still assisting the earthquake victims.
