Secretary General Tej Bunnag and Thai Red Cross Society delegation attended the 21st Southeast Asia (SEA) Red Cross and Red Crescent Leaders meetings between 2–6 September 2024 in Bali, Indonesia.
The series of meeting included the leaders meeting, dialogues session with ASEAN, youth forum, and the first aid network meeting. It aimed to strengthen humanitarian coordination between national societies in the Southeast Asia region, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and ASEAN relevant agencies.
In this regard, the secretary general of Thai Red Cross Society chaired a session on “the 20th anniversary of the 2004 Tsunami and recovery”. He also signed the Bali Statement which prioritizes regional humanitarian collaborations in disaster management, climate resilience, youth empowerment, first aid network, and assistance to displaced people in Myanmar.
