The Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS) in collaboration with the Department of Health, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), set up a joint mobile medical team to vaccinate Klong Toey community residents.
Mr. Pichit Siriwan, M.D., Deputy Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society, visited and encouraged the medical staff from the Thai Red Cross Relief and Community Health Bureau, on 5 May 2021. The TRCS medical team was led by Ms. Kanda Limitlaohaphan, M.D., Head of Medical Services Division of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, in vaccinating at risk individuals living in Klong Toey community. To control the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Health, BMA, plans to vaccinate as many as 1,500 people per day, at Tesco Lotus Rama IV.
On this occasion, the Deputy Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, TRCS, mentioned that the Thai Red Cross Society’s medical team supports the BMA’s effort in vaccinating Klong Toey residents. Moreover, in the near future, we are planning to mobilize TRCS medical volunteers to assist the government sector in mass vaccination programme in area affected by COVID-19. We are now allowing public health volunteers to send data on COVID-19 cases requiring 14-day self-quarantined into “PhonPhai” application, so that the TRCS in coordination with the District Office can promptly deliver relief kits of daily necessities to them. So far, more than 100,000 daily necessities sets have been distributed.
The Thai Red Cross Society invites the general public to be a part of “The Power of 99 Baht to Overcome the COVID-19 Crisis” by donating THB 99. The donation will be used in purchasing daily necessities for those in quarantine as well as elderly people who cannot take care of themselves and have no support. Donation can be made via 1) scanning the QR CODE via banking applications in the E-DONATION system, 2) making a deposit to the Kasikorn Bank current account, Silom Main Branch, “The Thai Red Cross Society for Disaster Relief”, No. 001-1-34567-0, or 3) making a deposit to the Krung Thai Bank current account, Surawong Branch, “The Fundraising Bureau, the Thai Red Cross Society”, No. 023-6-06799-0.
