U.S. Chargé d’Affaires pays a courtesy call on the Assistant Secretary General for Administration

On 19 April 2021, Mr. Michael Heath, Chargé d’Affaires, the U.S. Embassy, Bangkok, accompanied Dr. Steven G. Olive, Mission Director, U.S. Agency for International Development Regional Development Mission/Asia, and Mr. David Muehlke, Regional Refugee Coordinator for East Asia, U.S. Embassy, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tej Bunnag, Assistant Secretary General for Administration of the Thai Red Cross Society, at Terd Prakiat Building. They congratulated Mr.Tej for having been graciously appointed to become Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society from 1 May 2021. Both sides discussed the Thai Red Cross Society’s preparedness to respond to possible influxes of displaced persons from the situation in Myanmar as well as the third wave of COVID – 19 pandemic in Thailand. The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires informed Mr. Tej that the U.S. would be willing to support the Thai Red Cross Society’s humanitarian assistance for those fleeing the situation in Myanmar.
