On 17 August 2025, Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, handed over a donation of USD 100,000 (approximately 3.3 million Baht) from the people in Thailand to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to support humanitarian assistance for the earthquake victims in Myanmar. The donation was received by Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the ICRC on the occasion that the ICRC delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, together with Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for International Affairs and exchanged view on the humanitarian work of Thai Red Cross Society and the current implementation of international humanitarian law.
President of the ICRC visited Thailand to be the distinguished speaker to deliver the Lecture at the 11th Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Lecture Series on International Humanitarian Law on 18 August 2025.
