Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Honorary President and Executive Chairperson of the Chaipattana Foundation, granted funds from “Chaipattana COVID-19 Aid Fund (and other Pandemics)” to purchase ultrasound machines for King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital (KCMH), the Thai Red Cross Society, in order to urgently cure and save COVID-19 patients. On 2 June 2021, Ms. Vilawan Vanadurongvan, Member and Treasurer of the Chaipattana Foundation, handed over the machines to Prof. Suttipong Wacharasindhu, M.D., Director of KCMH, along with KCMH board members at Sala Thinnathat, the KCMH, TRCS.
Recently, there have been numerous COVID-19 cases in Thailand, especially in Bangkok, and this leads to lack of necessary and high-quality medical equipment. Ultrasound machines are necessary for assessment of cardiac function and lung infection and abdominal examination for COVID-19 patients who need surgeries.
