Thai Red Cross Society has transferred USD 20,000 (approximately THB 650,000) to the Philippine Red Cross to support relief efforts for victims affected by a series of powerful earthquakes that struck the Philippines in late September and mid-October 2025.
The first earthquake occurred on 30 September 2025, measuring 6.9 magnitude, affecting Bogo City in Cebu Province, located in the central part of the country. Two additional earthquakes followed on 10 October 2025, with magnitudes of 7.4 and 6.8, impacting Davao Oriental in the southern Philippines. These events affected more than 500,000 people, causing significant damage to homes and public infrastructure in the affected areas.
The Philippine Red Cross has been actively providing emergency assistance, including the distribution of relief supplies, temporary shelter, clean water, sanitation and hygiene services, as well as mental health and psychosocial support. The response efforts are currently in the recovery phase.
