The Singapore Red Cross donated SGD 50,000 (approximately THB 1.2 million) to Thai Red Cross Society to support humanitarian assistance for people and communities affected by flooding in southern Thailand.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, who departed peacefully on 24 October 2025 at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, in Bangkok. Her Majesty was deeply revered for her lifelong devotion to the people and her unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.
On 9 September 2025, Mr. Elkhan Rahimov, Head of Delegation, Country Cluster for for Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Viet Nam of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society, and Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for International Affairs, on the occasion of assuming his new position. They discussed humanitarian cooperation with the Thai Red Cross Society, as well as collaboration with other National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and international organizations.
Mr. Wittaya Chanchalong, Assistant Director of Thai Red Cross Chapters Administration Office, along with representatives from organizations supporting the Vaccines and Medicines for Vulnerable Groups along the Thai – Myanmar Border Project, including the Japanese Red Cross Society, ICRC, and IFRC visited Mae Sot District, Tak Province. The purpose of the visit was to monitor and observe the administration of vaccines to vulnerable Thai and non-Thai populations at Tak Special Education Center and New Wave Learning Centre for migrant children. These vaccine administration activities were supported by the Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with Tak Provincial Public Health Office and Mae Sot Hospital.
Dato’ Danial Iskandar, Acting Secretary General of the Malaysian Red Crescent, and Ms. Andreanne Tampubolon, Head of Public Relations and International Cooperation of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), made a study visit to the Relief and Community Health Bureau, such as the relief items warehouse, mobile dental clinic, Thai Red Cross Optometrist and Eyeglasses Center, etc.
Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, handed over a donation of USD 100,000 (approximately 3.3 million Baht) from the people in Thailand to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to support humanitarian assistance for the earthquake victims in Myanmar. The donation was received by Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the ICRC on the occasion that the ICRC delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, together with Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for International Affairs and exchanged view on the humanitarian work of Thai Red Cross Society and the current implementation of international humanitarian law.
