Ms. Gita Sabharwal, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Thailand, paid a visit on Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, together with Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for External Relations, on 10 October 2022 and discussed on situation in Myanmar, and assistance to migrants and displaced persons in Thailand.
Since the unrest situation in Myanmar erupted in 2021, Thai Red Cross Society in cooperation with local authorities and NGOs have provided daily necessities and relief kits valued more than 5.7 million Baht and 16,000 doses of COVID19 vaccination to displaced persons along Thai-Myanmar border in Tak and Mae Hong Son provinces. The society also administered more than 65,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and 42,000 relief kits to migrant workers and undocumented people nationwide.
