On 19 December 2020 at Bhumisiri Mangalanusorn Building, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, presided over the opening ceremony of the 2020 Virtual Red Cross Fair. The fair was held during 19 – 29 December 2019 under the concept of “Connectivity of Giving”. On this occasion, the Princess also awarded certificates to 12 winners of the booth decoration contest and 7 co-sponsors, enjoyed watching a performance of Khon;
a traditional masked dance performance based on the Indian epic Ramayana, and visited the online events platform through www.งานกาชาด.com
Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Thai Red Cross Fund Raising Bureau developed the on–ground event into an online platform in order to prevent and reduce the spread of COVID–19. The event featured several online activities, for example; booth decoration contest, Red Cross beauty pageant, products on sell, relief kits donation and blood donation etc. The activities on ground and online platforms were linked with a photo shooting spot in front of the public library, Lumpini Park, Bangkok.
