The Thai Red Cross Youth Bureau has launched a tree plantation campaign to celebrate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Bureau, with the aim to reduce the effect of natural disasters. The campaign is driven by youth volunteers, partner organizations and the general public.
Ms. Sunantha Sornanusin, Director of the Youth Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society (TRCS), mentioned that youth volunteers, partner organizations and people throughout the country can be a part of this campaign by planting trees or registering trees you have planted into the million trees platform. For taking care of the trees, photos showing growth stages are being recorded every month on the platform by planters. On 17 May 2021, the Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society, Mr. Tej Bunnag, graciously presided over the opening ceremony and planted the first tree on the platform.
Apart from celebrating the Bureau’s upcoming 100th anniversary, on 27 January 2022, this campaign is also a part of the beginning of the 21st century by integrating the technological innovation into voluntary work. Interested persons can take part in the campaign by visiting plant.redcross.or.th.
