Thai Red Cross delegation led by Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for External Relations attended the 11th Asia Pacific Red Cross and Red Crescent Regional Conference hosted by Vietnam Red Cross Society in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 21 – 23 November 2023. This conference focused on disaster preparedness and climate change readiness, strengthening national societies in different areas such as advancing women’s leadership, becoming financially sustainable, being trusted organizations and mutual aid between national societies.
During the conference, Thai Red Cross shared experiences on using technology such as the “PhonPhai” application in assisting vulnerable people affected by disasters, and Iris Recognition and Face Verification Technology in providing vaccination to undocumented persons, migrant workers and displaced people affected by the situation in Myanmar.
On this occasion, the Assistant Secretary General made a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Vo Van Thuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and also called on Mrs. Bui Thi Hoa, President of Vietnam Red Cross Society.
