On 30 March 2026, Thai Red Cross Society extended humanitarian assistance of USD 40,000 to support the operations of the Iranian Red Crescent Society and the Lebanese Red Cross, through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Emergency Appeals. The contributions aim to strengthen life‑saving assistance for communities severely affected by escalating conflicts in the region.
Across Iran and Lebanon, prolonged armed hostilities, insecurity, and compounded socio‑economic pressures have resulted in large‑scale humanitarian needs, affecting millions of people, including internally displaced families, injured civilians, and other vulnerable groups.
Through the IFRC Emergency Appeals, the Iranian Red Crescent Society and the Lebanese Red Cross are implementing life‑saving and response activities, including emergency medical services, first aid, and healthcare support for the injured and critically ill. Planned operations also include relief item distributions, cash and basic needs assistance, emergency shelter support, mental health and psychosocial services, water, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
