The Singapore Red Cross and Thai Red Cross Society co-hosted the Pandemic Readiness Enhancement Program 2026 (PREP), Practitioner’s Track, from 11–15 May 2026 in Bangkok. The training brought together 20 health program staff from Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies across Southeast Asia.
The objective of this training was to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills necessary for effective humanitarian response to disease outbreaks, while strengthening community resilience against epidemics and emerging infectious diseases in the future. The program aims to ensure that National Societies are better prepared, more collaborative, capable, and confident in responding to public health emergencies that may arise.
The opening ceremony on 11 May 2026 was presided over by Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, and Mr. Benjamin William, CEO and Secretary General of Singapore Red Cross.
On 14 May 2026, participants also conducted field visits to observe community-based preparedness at the Children’s Center, Sirindhorn Royal College, Samut Prakan Province, as well as vaccination operations at Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute of Thai Red Cross Society.
