On 4 January 2023, Ms. Noeleen Heyzer, Special Envoy of the Secretary- General on Myanmar paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, together with Dr. Apichart Chinwanno, Assistant Secretary General for External Relations, to share views and discuss on the situation and the humanitarian aid in Myanmar.
In 2021, Thai Red Cross Society provided assistance amounting to one million baht to Myanmar Red Cross Society, and also delivered humanitarian assistance from the Government of Thailand and Thai private sector in the form of cash and medical supplies worth more than eleven million baht to Myanmar Red Cross Society.
Besides, Relief and Community Health Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society provided more than 65,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines to displaced persons in temporary shelters along Thai-Myanmar border.
