Mr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary General of Thai Red Cross Society, and 45 Thai Red Cross delegates attended the 4th Lao Red Cross-Thai Red Cross Society Conference at Vang Vieng, Lao PDR. The conference was hosted by Lao Red Cross and co-chaired by Mr. Khamlavanh Chanthalavanh, Lao Red Cross President. In addition, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) representatives and Ms. Morakot Sriswasdi, Ambassador of Thailand to the Lao PDR, participated in the event.
The main topics of the conference included the cooperation reviews in the last two years, and discussion on disaster management, health promotion, blood transfusion services, organisation development, fundraising and communications, voluntary services, logistics, and strengthening humanitarian coordination between provincial chapters and branches along Thai-Lao border.
