125 persons with disabilities and care givers working at Thai Red Cross Provincial Chapter Administration Bureau, Provincial Red Cross Chapters, and district branches in region 1 – 4 attended the Capacity Building Project for Thai Red Cross Staff with Disabilities on 10 July 2023 at Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Bangkok. Mr. Krisda Boonrat, Assistant Secretary General and Director of Provincial Chapter Administration Bureau presided over an opening session together with Mr. Felix Casanova Cambronero – Deputy Head of the ICRC Regional Delegation Bangkok, Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh – Director of Fundraising Bureau, Ms. Thipvipa Suwannarat – Advisor and Acting Deputy Director of Provincial Chapter Administration Bureau, and Mr. Arnont Cherngcawano – Director of International Relations Bureau.
This is the 5th capacity building project for the staff with disabilities and care givers which was sponsored by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Thai Red Cross Provincial Chapters. It aims to enhance knowledges of the Movement, the Fundamental Principles, usages of the Red Cross Emblem, updated Thai Red Cross logo, service employment, disability employment laws, and exchange of working experiences with Thai Red Cross Society.
Thai Bank Association and Social Innovation Foundation have been giving financial support for annual service employment opportunities to persons with disabilities to work with Thai Red Cross Society, Provincial Red Cross Chapters, and district branches since 2017. In 2023, a total 769 persons with disabilities are employed by Thai Red Cross Society.
